Ed Heffer is a Bath based graphic designer who got in touch and asked me to realise his website design.

The backend of the site allows Ed to add new projects to his portfolio under multiple headings. The animation is all done using jQuery.

Cardiff University Concert Series

Website

Listings for all of the concerts which take place at Cardiff University's Concert Hall at the School of Music.

This website was designed to reflect the printed materials designed for the concert series. The client is able to add new concerts and the website does all the work for them. Concerts which have happened move automatically to the archive and off the front page keeping it up to date.

Down2Earth

An educational project about meteors, impacts and caters.

The website hosts an array of educational resources and is the home of the Impact Calculator built by myself and Edward Gomez.

I built this website with simplicity in mind. Resources are catagorised with tags and the client can easily add new news articles and resources.

Impact Calculator

Web Application (Flash)

I build the Impact calculator with Edward Gomez for the Down2Earth Project.

Using Adobe Flex we created a rich interactive interface to give the user an idea of what effects an asteroid impact would have on the earth.

The application uses Google Maps to show the size of the crater and allows you to see how deep the resulting crater is by droping in famous landmarks.

This website is the UK front of the Herschel Outreach Programme providing educational resources and activities.

As well as many different types of content this website displays results in Chromoscope and has a page which loads blogs and tweets referencing Herschel.

H-Atlas

"Jon designed and built our Herschel-ATLAS project website and database. We are a large consortium of astronomers undertaking a project with a new space telescope called Herschel. It was really important for us to have a website which was functional for us and other astronomers, and which also would allow us to share our findings with the wider public. Jon created a really professional site where we can have news features, links to images, a private space for members and our database searched with SQL query forms. We are extremely happy with the result, it meets all the must-haves we set out plus all the extra things that we'd only half imagined might happen at the planning stage. It was a high pressure deadline at the end but Jon was reliable, good at communicating all the way through the project and we had a very successful launch. I would wholly recommend Jon and hope to use his services again in the future."

Colour Image Maker

I built this app for the Faulkes Telescope Project to help explain how false colour images are made from astronomical observations.

The user can add colour to images from sets of observations and combine them to create their own false colour images.
